Welcome to Cellar XV. We specialize in an extensive selection of artisan, well priced wines from around the world.  Our vision of delivering an incredible wine experience combining great wine, good value and excellent service has been the core focus of our Ridgefield, Connecticut retail store since 2002. With a goal of enhancing an extraordinary wine buying experience, we also offer fine spirits and mixers, unique gifts and a special collection of beautiful, classic and vintage accessories.

Doug Thompson, Cellar XV’s proprietor , has developed a following of wine enthusiasts who value knowledge, affordability and service.  Our old-fashioned values and attention to European traditions permeate the Cellar XV experience, from personalized pairings recommendations to the charming ambience of our in-store wine tastings.

Most of the 130 bottles in our store average $15, with a focus on small, family run wineries. We carefully select the majority of our wines, following a formal tasting and approval process. Our certified sommelier is able to make careful inventory selections and provide essential education and guidance to our customers. Each member of our staff is exceptionally knowledgeable and passionate, not only about wine but about providing the highest level of customer service available anywhere in the region. Our relationships with each customer, newcomer to connoisseur, enable us to understand their range of tastes and interests and help them discover the wines that suit their individual palates.

In addition to our moderately priced stock, we offer Splurge bottles priced in the $20 to $40 range. This collection is designed for the treat yourself moment, for the weekend or for when special friends drop by. The Cellar is our temperature controlled wine room comprised of our more rare and expensive selections. These carefully chosen wines are typically from small production batches or are hard to locate in the general wine market.  A Cellar bottle can be a great addition to a home wine collection or a special gift for a wine connoisseur.

To round out the wine buying education and experience, we are pleased to offer a busy calendar of wine tastings and dinners, customized party planning services, a monthly wine club for avid and novice wine consumers, a wine school, food and wine pairing recommendations, home cellar design and management as well as selections of organic and local wines.
