This Pinot Noir is from Chantain, near Pommard. The "La Taupe" clima produces a structured wine with firm tannins and an intriguing nose that shows aromas of ripe, red fruit. In the mouth, there is fresh fruit with bright acidity; strawberries and raspberries, with a hint of cedar. La Taupe spends eight months in barrels made of 10% new French Oak giving it it's smooth texture. Lusciousness in the mouth with a balancing zippy acidity makes this a great food wine.
